Rack mount coyote

Postby dbuckley » Mon Oct 20, 2008 4:02 am

Hi Eric

Some of us who these days are more behind mixing desks than guitars feel a little left out :) and would like to rack mount this unit.

So, would you be willing to sell the board without the box, so I dont have to start by undoing your production?

And just to echo something else that was said on this board, MIDI is an important feature that it would be excellent to have implemented; I would suspect the I2C bus would be an easy place to add that as an after-fit.

David.

David,

Ordinarily it would be more trouble than it's worth to do custom orders, but I'm kind of intrigued by seeing the unit in a rack mount chassis and you've actually caught the production cycle at a good time (boards are going into chassis starting today).

I'll figure out what the pricing would be without chassis and send you a PM. If you're interested we'll put together a custom order outside of the normal online store. I have a unit sitting here all tested but chassis-less, so we could probably ship within a day or two.

I'll get back to you shortly.

hey, i was going to post this!

far more guitarists use pedals but some guitarists use rack effects too, as i mentioned in another thread, stereo in/out, spdif and midi are standard features in rack gear so i think this should wait till those interfaces get out of the frankenstein stage, i'd also like to see it be a dual processor with routing options, relay switching, fx loop and and servo balanced neutrik inputs, switchable pro/consumer levels, the first device to interface should be a coffee brewer too, that or a guitar pick sharpener, maybe a trebuchet

and i vote it is named:

I'm just putting the finishing touches on the rack mount version now. At $63,208 I think it's very affordable. The rack will require a 600W power supply if you want to connect the optional coffee brewer and there are some, well let's just say "unique" mounting requirements if you don't want to fling your equipment rack through the studio wall every time you use the trebuchet. My neighbors unfortunately learned that the hard way. Units will be available on the website as soon as the law suit clears.

i think you should reconsider the design, if you make it run on 3 phase or maybe use better cables it might not need such a big power supply

here's some nice cables at only $4.5k
